which Javascript projects tutorial is better? Brad Traversy or Andrei Neagoie

As we know if you want to become a web developer, which has three paths actually, front-end developer, back-end developer, and full stack developer.

For my opinion, front end side is more vision-related, which you connect more with users’ demands. You can actually see what your code turns into a real website. Backend is more data and logic related, how to manage and manipulate the data at the back when the website is running. A good website would have a strong logic structure for future management and faster response and so on, which is the brain of the human. And the full stack development means two together of course, which you should understand both side knowledge so you can do the projects by yourself and easy to cooperate with colleges for teamwork, that’s why lots company would like a full stack developer, head free when communicating while doing the teamwork.

For myself, I jumped into this field because of interests though and self-taught at home. So I basically rely on online tutorials all over the place and of course prefer the free ones. And actually, I learned something through these free tutorials. All thanks to the growth of the internet and people who really dedicate to share the knowledge. But sometimes the really good and through learning path is not free though.

I basically get courses from Udemy, because they have promotion sometimes for a $ 9.9-lifetime purchase. And For Andrei’s course, you can join the ZTM academy.

I’d decide to begin with the front-end developer path because I like the visional attraction. For the Front-end developer, the knowledge required includes Html, CSS, and Javascript basically. And also you can learn Sass and frame like React which is popular recently, and Vue, Angular, and so on. And also some tools such as one of the code editor like VS Code, Sublime so on. So the core of front-end knowledge is Javascript which is versatile also can be used in backend Node.js which is popular now.

Yeah, so I want to really dedicate much more time to Javascript learning. For a self-taught developer, I feel confused sometimes because of too many tutorials and resources online, but which one is actually really deserved to take time to dive in. After learning the basic knowledge of Javascript, the actual way to enhance them is doing projects of course.

 Practice makes perfect.

So I’d decide to do these two high star rank tutorials of projects.

And the teacher Brad Traversy is in this field for a long, so he has more experience. Sometimes he will upload small tutorials on Youtube.

Andrei Neagoie is a really patient and passionate younger teacher who has shared lots of tech-related knowledge all over. My first purchased course is his “The complete Web developer in 2021:zero to mastery”, which lead me to further in the field and trigger me to dive deeper.

The common features applied in both courses: DOM manipulating, API, CSS animations, and so on.

The courses content:

You can find some similar projects such as music player, calculator, Pong game, countdown, and drag & drop.

The best learning way for a self-taught developer is to share the knowledge, so I write the knowledge learned each time and also a good review content for myself. If you’d like to check on the projects and plugins demos from my blogs

The projects I did follow on Github:

Andrei Neagoie courses repositories

As a beginner of front-end developer, what I feel about these courses:

The Traversy’s course updated 1/2020.

The Andrei’s course update 1/2021.

So if you want more modern and new stuff you should stick to Andrei’s. He is dedicated to updating new on the old course to make it fresh.

But Traversy’s course is completely good no errors and classic courses.

I feelTraversy’s course is shorter for each project and basic knowledge but important. While Andrei’s is fancier and knowledge full covered.

Summary

So if you have a few Javascript basic knowledge want to enhance the basics with limited time like around one hour for each classic project, you can go with Traversy’s course.

But if you have at least more than one hour to put on a project and want to have some featured fancy modern projects showing off on your projects, you should absolutely stick on Andrei’s course.

If you have enough time, just do it both like me. I’d recommend doing Traversy’s first, then Andrei’s, so you can actually add to your portfolio for a job.
